Energy efficiency of diabatic distillation schemes for an acetone–toluene–n-butanol mixture with an entrainer in the first column

Objectives . To investigate the effectiveness of various options for organizing process diabatic distillation in separation a mixture acetone–toluene–n-butanol by extractive (ED) with dimethylformamide as an entrainer scheme where is used first column. Methods Mathematical modeling Aspen Plus v. 12.1 software package was primary research method. The local Non-Random Two Liquid composition equation model describing vapor–liquid equilibrium. Parametric optimization schemes carried out according to criterion reduced energy costs. Results Based on ED column, four were considered, both and without increasing temperature flows due compression. Conclusion It shown that use acetone–toluene– n -butanol can decrease consumption 11–17%. While maximum reduction achieved using compressor, efficiency compressor slightly lower. Nevertheless, technological design latter much simpler.
